When I think of “woodsy” scents, I generally associate them with men’s fragrances, but the soft, smooth, warm smell of woods mixed with other sensual notes works particularly well with a woman’s unique chemistry. Sensuous is a fragrance that’s really "all woman, all the time." It features woods--and I love that--but this woody-centric fragrance centers around three unique "accords" that ensure it would never be mistaken for a man's cologne. An "accord" for those who are new to scent, is simply the basic character or theme of a fragrance. When you blend three or four distinct fragrance notes together, they lose their individual identities to create a new "odor."



The Sensuous fragrance, developed by perfumer Annie Buzantian of Firmenich in collaboration with Karyn Khoury and Aerin Lauder was: "inspired by the vision of "a molten river of woods." The fragrance has a complex, sexy vibe in a very exciting but refined way. The big star of the scent is the “Warm Accord” with a core of molten woods and glowing amber, and a unique “Melted Woods NaturePrint” that brings the role of woods in this fragrance, front and center. There is also a floral, feminine accord called: “Atmospheric Florals” created with a special blend of ghost lily accord, magnolia and jasmine petals, plus ylang nature intact (a highly concentrated and refined ylang extraction). It doesn’t push one floral note ahead of another, but instead, gives an overall floral impression. Adding depth and interest, is a “Luminous Accord” that melds sandalwood, black pepper, juicy mandarin pulp and a nectar-like honey NaturePrint to work with the woods and your own, unique body chemistry, helping to produce a soft, lingering, sensual scent you naturally make all your own.

The slim round, clear glass bottle is delicately fluted on the entire backside of the bottle, offering a feminine touch. It also allows the simple black lettering on the front to appear to “float” on the design, as if on a backdrop. The cover is rose gold metal, adding a luxurious, unique look to the pale gold "juice," inside.



I really love this new fragrance, and I think it's going to be a modern classic that will stand the test of time. If you love woodsy scents, you will adore this one.
