The Cancer Vixen Collection features an eye-catching, hot pink cardboard "suitcase" with hot pink gross grain ribbon "handle." It's decorated with Acocella Marchetto's adorable, comic-book style illustrations, and the C.O. Bigelow products inside are all colored hot pink as well. The kit includes the Lemon Cream Body Wash 1.7 fl. oz, and a jar of Lemon Body Cream 1.7 oz (with 4.5% lemon oil extracts, these smell exactly like yummy lemon drops--honest!), a tingly, soothing, silky, pearly, minty Mentha Lip Tint in Pink Mint, an invigorating and reviving Mentha Foot - Tingling Foot Cream 2 fl. oz (with 2.25% peppermint oil and aloe, to keep your feet from feeling tired), and a tart and fruity smelling Dr. Hiosous Quince Hand Lotion 2 0z. -- all for $29.50!
This kit would be so perfect for someone you know who is a cancer survivor, or going through the healing process. It's also perfect for anyone who is a care-giver to a patient (care-givers need support and nurturing, too). Of course, the products are excellent "just because" and for travel. The hot-pink tubes and great scents, (not to mention the easily absorbed, moisturizing products) are simply fun to use for yourself.
*Tip: if you hurry to the Bath and Bodyworks web site there's a "buy one get one" going on now.
Mentha Lip Tint in Pink Mint $7.50 *this is one of my absolutely favorite lip balms/glosses in a slant tip squeeze tube. this product is the exact same thing as the Pink Mint colored lip tint BBW has always carried. Your lips will feel energized and the mint helps freshen your breath --soft lips, fresh breath--it's a must have all year long! You can't go wrong buying these as stocking stuffers now for all the "girls" at holiday time.
Village Perfumer Wild Berry Body Cleanser $12.00; Village Perfumer Wild Berry Body Lotion $14.00; Village Perfumer Wild Berry Hand Wash $12. 00 These are pretty to look at, and so "girly," too!
I haven't read it, but the book that was the inspiration for these products, but Cancer Vixen: A True Story (Hardcover) by Marissa Marchetto is her true life story about what happens when a "shoe-crazy, lipstick-obsessed, wine-swilling, pasta-slurping, fashion-fanatic, single-forever, about-to-get-married big-city girl cartoonist with a fabulous life finds . . . a lump in her breast." Author Marchetto had everything going for her when breast cancer decided to crash the party. But rather than let cancer define her, she redefined–and designed–cancer in this true story, describing the realities of breast cancer, chemotherapy drugs and radiation. Marchetto is donating a percentage of the proceeds from this book to The Cancer Vixen Fund and The Breast Cancer Research Foundation® Marisa established The Cancer Vixen Fund at St. Vincent's Comprehensive Cancer Center to help women who are uninsured receive the best breast care. For more information about the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, visit www.bcrfcure.org
