This year, I started my Fashion Week in the Bryant Park Tents with a visit backstage to Carolina Hererra and to interview the great people from Creative Nail Design. The woman in the bright green dress is Wanda from Creative Nail Design. The Nail polish she was using at the Carolina Hererra Show was Serenity, a creamy, sheer beige, toppe by a quick drying product called "Quick Dry." My friend Cognac Wellerlane from cognacscorner.tiv interviewed Wanda, as did I. The video isn't edited yet, but once it is, I'll post it ASAP!

After talking to Wanda, I wandered over to Diane Kendall, lead makeup artist for M.A.C. She told me the inspiration for the Carolina Hererra show as simply a beautiful, fresh face that was dewy and natural. The emphasis really does seem to be on fresh skin, not a lot of face makeup and an emphasist still on the eyes, with nude lips. Romera Jennings, another M.A.C. makeup artist told me that the lips were colored with a popular M.A.C. lipstick called "Twig" and polished with a new, dazzle gloss dabbed in the center of the lips. Cheeks were dewy and glowing with a peachy blush. Eyes featured White "Pigment" in White Frost plus a new, brown Pigment.
I didn't get a chance to interview Orlando for the hair, because the backstage was so crowded no one was allowed back to the hair area...a disappointment....but I did get a photo of the hair.

The show itself was beautiful, but it was very dark. My camera jammed and I couldn't really get many photos. Here's one of the finale and one of Ms. Hererra offering a hug backstage after her show.
After the Carolina Hererra show I went to Jill Stuart in the Library on 42nd Street, full of pretty, short, frilly and girly party dresses. I was on the photography riser and a photographer in front of me put her camera flash in just about every shot of the show, but I DID get some photos of Paris Hilton!

Then it was on to see the glorious furs, jewelry, handbags and boots of designer Helen Yarmak. I'll be doing a more complete feature on her after fashion week, but here's Katya Kotlyar, her assistant, with me!

Then I went to Tony Cohen's show, and then on to Terexov, below, with his "sex and the city "literally" in silk on his amazing evening dresses!
It is almost midnight, and I'm downloading photos and getting ready for an early wake-up call tomorrow...so more later!
