Jala Designs Jewelry-Be Yourself and the Rest Will Follow

Rachel Franco, creator and designer of JāLa Designs, produces produces some really interesting and unique jewelery. What else would you expect from a company whose tagline is: "be yourself and the rest will follow."

The designer was initially inspired by a fabric-wrapped bowl. Something clicked and she thought "why not?" She decided that jewelry would look lovely wrapped in fabric, too. So, in addition to traditional chain and semi-precious stones in her creations, she incorporates designer fabrics, high-end ribbon and other non-traditional materials to create sophisticated and distinct pieces that communicate the originality and flair of the individuals wearing them. There are several different JāLa necklace and earring collections:


The Silk Collection features silk fabrics. The Tapestry Collection, pieces using anything other than silk fabric. The One of a Kind & Limited Edition Collection uses materials found in limited or one-time supply. This necklace is from the silk collection SK108 $150.00. The square, medallion hangs from a point on a nickel-free, antique, 16" (or 18" $2.00 additional) sturdy, rounded link brass "bronzed" chain with toggle clasp . The focal point is the rose pink silk (with a beige pattern) covered medallion. Five dangles of Tigers Eye & Rose Quartz Stones make it dressy and eye-catching. *if you like this design, but want to use different fabric and stones? Email the designer and she'll work with you.

As you can see from the photo (although the photo doesn't do it justice), this isn't a piece you'll see on everyone else--and that's what I like so much about JāLa Designs. The jewelry is nicely crafted (in other words, it doesn't like look "cheap") but the pieces do look hand made. If you're seeking a replica of a Judith Ripka or Cartier, then JāLa Designs pieces won't be your favorite style. These mini, wearable, works of art will appeal most to women who prize individuality, who radiate self-confidence, and have a unique sense of style!

..and that's exactly the point, the designer believes that her jewelry is not just decorative--it's a reminder that the key to life is to just be, yourself.

Each piece arrives in a nice, brown gift box, encircled with attractive, cream-colored paper band featuring the company's pretty logo. Each piece is also sent with a handwritten thank-you note, signed by the designer....how lovely is that?!!!
