little things I can't live without during Fashion Week

Every Fashion Week, I find that there are items I reach for every single day that I simply couldn't do without. Here (not in any order) are my Fall 2009 Fashion Week "must-haves"



Footpetals - you're on your feet a lot, and these little wonders keep my feet cushy, not cramped!

PurMinerals Color Corrective Primer in "Peach" - makes skin look more flawless and helps your makeup, last

SKINN by Dimitri James Eye Shadows: they have collagen-boosting peptides and don't fade, run, crease or turn color.


Estee Lauder Resilience Cream Extreme Foundation - moistly matte and lasts for hours

Clinique Quick Blush - new, all-in-one brush/powder blush-in-a-tube gives a natural glow and won't fade or turn color. *I will be reviewing this in the Advice Sisters March/April "What Works" Beauty, Cosmetics & Fashion review column up the first week in March




M.A.C. Cosmetics Limited Edition Ruffian Red Lipstick: Sometimes it’s the little things that make a huge difference, like a great red lipstick that lights up your face. The rarest on the runway is MAC's ruffian red, a limited edition yellow-based red lipstick from M.A.C. that was created by MAC and the Ruffian’s designer, Brian Wolk. . Only 500 tubes of this lipstick exist and you can't buy it. Only those who attended the show on February 14th and a few, select trendsetters have it. But I got one! I wore it constantly during Fashion Week because it's a bold but truly flattering tone, inspired by a red lacquer 18th Century Chinese vase (from the home of Wolk's friend and muse, Antonie Thompson). The lipstick captures the "Franco-American allure" of Ruffian's fall 2009 collection....and it captured my attention!

L'Oreal dual-ended On The Lips and Around the Lips Anti-Feathering Cream and Plumping Serum...this dynamic duo helps lipstick to stay put, and also helps to keeps lips soft.

Ageless Fantasy by Harvey Prince & Co. The cheerful, grapefruit-y scent is supposed to make you appear younger. There's some sense to the scent, and it smells uplifting. Liberal amounts keep me upbeat.... and maybe...looking and feeling more youthful!


NYC Subway Line Metro Bag: nearly indestrucible, classic black bag with velcro closure embroidered NYCSL Subway Line Logo with "subway" symbols in yellow, blue and grey, on black and white, holds papers, invitations, pens, granola bars...even extra camera gear!
