Esther Nash Spring 2010 Runway Show BK Fashion WeekEnd

Fashion Week in Manhattan is over, but our City is made up of Five Boroughs, and in Brooklyn, talented designers are still showing their Spring 2010 collections. Last night in Brooklyn's Fort Greene area, a fashionable crowd (including designer Malan Breton and Loris Diran) gathered to see some of what Brooklyn's fashion stars have to offer.

One of the designers who showed a collection on the runway last night was the beautiful and talented Esther Nash. She's the sort of woman who can do so many things well, but fashion is her passion. Esther is a graduate of the prestigious, Art and Fashion school of New York City. Her signature is a unique, hand-decorated line of primarily denim-centric, sophisticated, hip, and wearable clothes called Baby Doll Sugar Daddy. The inexhaustible Nash designs jewelry, accessories and clothing, while also working as a model and actress! Esther began owning and operating her own fashion retail stores when she was still just a teenager, her designs have been featured in her own, and in dozens of other runway shows around the Country. Her fashions have also been featured on the HBO series Sex and the City.

Esther's focus for last season's BK Fashion WeekEnd in April 2009 featured body-baring clothes and jeweled headbands. But for this season, Esther's focus was on a Boho-denim look, paring specially-knit, fringed ponchos in bright colors, with denim jeans and skirts. As you can see from the photos, these are clothes that are stylish, but you can wear them without feeling like a couture fashion victim. Ponchos and uniquely decorated jeans and jean skirts are a must-have in every wardrobe, but Esther Nash knows how to make these staples new and exciting, with applique and screened logo details, plus a bit of bling. Nash's Baby Doll Sugar Daddy clothing line flatters everyone from working women, to socialites and celebrities, or any woman who just likes to dress like a star and be noticed.

The ponchos add a colorful touch to everything-- just throw on on and you have an instant update in your wardrobe! Plus, ponchos have the added advantage of being warm as well as wonderfully chic. The ponchos in Esther Nash's Collection featured luxe touches such as long fringes, and touches of fur.

After her runway show, Esther Nash watched the other designer's shows, and shared a laugh with Shelly Nash, her model-worthy sister (can you believe it? Gorgeous Shelly is not just a publicist for her sister, Esther, she's a lawyer and a New York judge)@ Mother Dorothy Nash sits proudly between her talented daughters.

Brooklynites like to show their love and make some noise! Young performers offering a variety of musical styles representing the borough’s diverse sounds, included this amazing, 13 year old boy whose rap "Don't Look At My Mom" nearly brought the house down!

This lovely young model strutted her stuff with attitude down the runway and for the photographers. Watch for her in a few years on the cover of Vogue...she's going to be a star!
