Getting Set for the Elvis Cruise Despite Hurricane Ida

Despite hurricane IDA, Elvis fans (and your reporter, Alison Blackman Dunham) are getting ready to set sail on the Carnival Inspiration for a unique cruise-- an all elvis cruise!

I am not a die-hard Elvis fan, but I do appreciate his music and the tremendous contribution Elvis made to rock and roll. He will always be the King of Rock and Roll, and the chance to set sail on a beautiful cruise ship with tons of people who really do love "The King" even though he's been gone for decades, is too good to pass up. Elvis has an enduring charm that just keeps getting stronger with the generations. I wonder if any of our current musical stars, even Michael Jackson, will have that kind of long-long-long lasting appeal.

What will the Elvis Cruise be like? I'm not sure, since I've never been on a theme cruise like this one before. But, as someone who has been on more than 5 dozen cruises (maybe more), I can already tell you that there will be a lot of fun as we set sail on the Carnival Inspiration from Tampa, to Cozumel, for five fun-filled days of sun, music, memorabilia, and of course, a change to immerse ourselves in "everything Elvis." I will be blogging daily from the ship so please bookmark this blog, or better yet, subscribe to it (you can find information about how to subscribe on the right hand column), or join me on Twitter (@advicesisters) and all the blog posts will come to you.

It would also be great if you would comment whiile I'm on board, or ask me questions so I can include them in my reports. As Elvis himself would say: "Thank You...Thank You Very Much!!!"
