I
love Max Azria's form fitting bondage dresses, even though they're
impossible body conscious and not the easiest for every woman to wear
successfully. But that's part of the point...you've got to be earn the
body if you want to wear the clothes.

For Fall 2009, Max Azria offered a bit of a
reprieve from bondage, with short dresses featuring plenty of skin and
shiny tights worn with tough-looking, stiletto ankle and knee-high boots.

Like the dimly-lighted runway, the colors in this
collection were extremely subdued--a departure from the bright,
optimistic pops of color seen in so many collections for Fall 2009. But Max Azria's line is chic and somewhat avant-garde, so it wasn't
surprising that the palette remained dark. There was some color.
Other than black and grey, the designer included winter white,
goldenrod, purple, and blue. Eveningwear was also subdued, the
embellishment tended to be more lace than beads, but some had a bit of
sparkle.

I like the elegant, drape-y styles that still had
sex appeal by showing lots of leg, thanks to plenty of asymmetrical
hems.
