The Tadashi Shoji Runway Show Fall Fashion Week 2009 -An Advice Sisters Feature (exclusive video)

*all text and photos by Alison Blackman Dunham

Tadashi Shoji's Fall 2009 collection stressed  "young elegance."  The collection featured a lot of cocktail dresses and lots of details and ruffles.  The special event dresses were strapless or one-shouldered, or had puffy sleeves. The gowns featured bold but feminine colors of rose, violet, teal and red and the quintessential black and white.  There weren't any glittery beads or long trains or wierd layers, these were just beautiful, red-carpet style gowns that while pretty, were also simple and clean.

There weren't any glittery beads or long trains or strange layers or neon colors, but there were rich fabrics in silk, brocade, satin, silk organza and taffeta. The clothes were simply beautiful, red-carpet-worthy and they'd make even an average woman look stunning!

Before anything goes down the runway, it has to be pressed and ready to wear.

Fern Mallis, Senior Vice-President of IMG, the world's largest producer of fashion shows, check out Tadashi Shoji's "program" as she sits in the front row at this final show.  She appeared to attend virtually every single show on the schedule this season!

I'd like to thank videographer Lorenzo Esquivel and TV host Cognac Wellerlane for their support this season.  Here we are (I'm in the middle) on the runway at the end of Tadashi Shoji's runway show and the end of Fashion Week!
