M Lab Skincare-The Advice Sisters Product of the Week
If you live in England and are a Harrods shopper, you probably already know about M Lab from Milabar Laboratories. The company has been formulating skincare for dermatologists and plastic surgeons for over 25 years, but a few years ago the lab team was asked to create a new line of products that would be luxurious, and anti-aging, regardless of expense. Their creation: M Lab, is a truly luxe line of skincare products that has been building quite a buzz. The unusual, shiny, black bottles with stark white labels and bold black lettering looks like the type you'd find in a boutique hotel: modern, unisex, and expensive. But this anti-aging line has clinically active ingredients such as peptides, antioxidants, and plant extracts ranging from 45 TO 74% (most lines have 10-20%). .That's important, because active ingredients have the capacity to stimulate some aspects of skin regeneration or renewal (e.g. collagen synthesis or cell turnover). The M Lab line has treatment creams, serums, cleansers and toners, to target the various signs and types of aging. The products are dermatologically-tested and good for all skin types. This is all good news. The bad news, if there is any, is that the line isn't for the budget-minded. Since the line is in the higher range for cost (e.g the Anti-Aging Treatment Cream is $260.00 12.4 oz; the Eye Cream is $170.00 .5 fl), I highly recommend trying the line with the M Lab Travel Collection $130.00 featuring six, travel-sized portion of their signature products: anti-aging cleanser (50ml), anti-aging toner (50ml), anti-aging treatment cream (15ml), anti-aging treatment serum (5ml), anti-aging day treatment SPF 15 (15ml), and anti-aging eye cream (3ml) all in a sturdy, compact, chic, black, zippered travel bag.
I didn't test the M Lab products long enough to see dramatic results, but the creams were pleasant to use, especially the mint green-tinted eye cream that felt amazingly soothing (even the guys liked it). My skin looked nice and felt even better. These products offer exactly what you'd expect from a luxe line: nice packaging, silky and creamy formulas that are easily absorbed, and they felt good on your skin. I can't guarantee immediate or dramatic results, but who knows? The "good stuff" is all in there, and so I think that over time and with regular use, the products should help improve skin tone and texture, and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
There's a bit of snob appeal in acquiring products that cost a lot, but you can share these with your partner, and that's good for both of you! And, having good, youthful looking skin that keeps you away from expensive and invasive treatments? Maybe, priceless!
